How much you gain by speeding

Enter the traffic speed and how much faster you're moving (whether in a carpool lane or simply speeding), and the calculator will tell you how many miles you have to drive to gain one minute. E.g. if the traffic speed is 65 mph and you drive 10 mph faster, you gain one minute per 8.13 miles. If the freeway part of your commute is 25 miles, you gain just one cycle of a traffic light at a major intersection. And that's after consistently speeding by 10 mph for 25 miles! Is it really worth it?

If the traffic moves at mph, and you drive mph faster, you one minute every miles.
